Who We Are

Design doesn’t have to be overwhelming; and a beautiful home doesn’t require a full renovation. We believe in the power of styling: thoughtful furnishings, meaningful décor, textures, color, and a few well-chosen pieces that turn a house into a home.

At Kari Freedus Interiors, we blend modern simplicity with curated vintage character, creating spaces that feel layered, cozy, and uniquely you.

Owner & Principal Stylist

An Austin local for the past 16 years and originally from Southern California, Kari has always been drawn to spaces that feel warm, lived-in, and full of character. Her passion for interior styling began early — shaped by years spent wandering flea markets, antique malls, and estate sales, searching for pieces with history and soul.

After losing her childhood home in a wildfire, Kari developed a deep appreciation for the meaning objects can hold and the comfort a thoughtfully styled space can bring. That experience, paired with a lifelong eye for design, became the foundation of her approach today: creating spaces that feel personal, grounded, and uniquely yours.

Before launching Kari’d Away Interiors, Kari spent 15 years working in the tech world. Eventually, she decided to follow the path she’d always been meant for - bringing her love of design, intuition for mixing old and new, and her signature warm, curated aesthetic to clients across Austin and beyond.

Kari specializes in blending vintage treasures with modern pieces to create spaces that feel soulful, functional, and beautifully lived-in. For her, styling is more than design — it’s storytelling.
